š ļø Standard SkateĀ Mounting ServicesĀ š§
š¢This is for standard rollerskate boots. Please check our other products for custom trainer mounts or ice conversions. Some boots do cost more than others to mount as they are trickier so please check over all the options before selecting.
''PRICE STARTS FROM'' info:
This is for used boots that require holes to be filled - we say this because honestly, some re-mounts are absolute bastards. Rusty bolts that are impossible to get out, old boots that have weird shit going on with them, non-standard parts that require different tools, etc, etc. Honestly some of them aren't worth the amount of time it takes us to do them! As much as we love you and we go that extra mile, time is money, and sometimes we have to charge you for that time! If it looks like your mount is going to take over the alotted time we set aside for re-mounts, we might give you a call to let you know that we need to charge you more. Unfortunately we can't really know this til we get started. Be assured we are not cheeky and we absolutely don't take the piss with this, but unfortunately we noticed we're being caught out on some jobs, and rather than just raise the price for all re-mounts, this is the best solution we can think of.
āļø Email for Expert Advice: Got specific mounting needs or need advice? Drop us an email at info@doublethreatskates.co.uk.
š Mounting Availability: Unfortunately, we can't offer same-day mounting right now due to our busy schedule. Wait time for all mounting jobs is between 1-2 weeks. In addition, if you're getting a re-mount and we need to glue the holes, the glue we use takes 24 hours to dry so this means it can add time on.
Chaya Boot Mounting - A Bit Tricky but Worth It!
Chaya boots can be a bit tricky to mount, especially if you want anything other than the DCM system. Due to the extra time they take, we have to charge a bit more.
š¦ How to Bring or Send Your Plates:
You can either bring your plates into the shop or post them to us - whichever suits you best!
š ļø What's Included:
All skate build services come with a mounting kit (nuts n' bolts for fixing plates) if your plates come with them as standard. Otherwise you need to purchase separately.
ā ļø Didn't Purchase Boot and Plate from DTS? Choose This Option:
If you didn't buy the boot or plates from us, go for the 'Did Not Purchase from DTS' option.
Precision Matters - Your Skates, Your Way!
šÆ Specific Preferences? Let Us Know:
We pay close attention to mounting plates to boots, considering factors like size and shape. If you have specific preferences, inform us before mounting.
š Aesthetic vs. Performance:
We prioritize performance over aesthetics, especially when dealing with hand-made, custom-built boots that may have minor irregularities. Let us know if you prefer an aesthetic focus.
š Re-Mounts and Potential Gluing:
Re-mounts might involve gluing old holes. While it might not look perfect, rest assured it won't affect performance or boot longevity.

š Re-Mounting Old Skates Warning:
Re-mounting plates on very old, used, or 'vintage' skates might encounter issues like rusty bolts or glued soles. Just a heads up!
If any boots require removing rivets, that falls under the 'custom mount - ice conversion (includes blade removal)' product.
Some old or used boots may not survive the re-mounting process. It's a risk with any old or used boot that has been mounted to someting else, that by removing the old plates, the boot may come away from the sole, or may crack or by drilling new holes, the structural integrity of the boot may just not be good enough, or any other weird thing that might mean it breaks. We're sorry, but that's the risk with very old or used gear!
Please note: While we are always careful, we cannot guarantee plate mounting without the plates being marked. Once boots and plates have been mounted, they cannot be returned.
